76th Music Festival

To all music enthusiasts:

The 76th MUSIC Festival organised by the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association (HKSMSA) is now open for registration. 

Enrolment Procedure

Discovery College will facilitate the application for DC students, and the process will be roughly as described below:

1. Register/Enrol through the DC exclusive link(s) on Wednesday 27 September 2023 till Wednesday 11 October 2023. 

For Primary (Y1 – Y6) students, use DC-Primary 2324

For Secondary (Y7 – Y12) students, use DC-Secondary 2324

2. Once the enrolment form is submitted, you will receive an acknowledgement email from HKSMSA. Please forward the email to our DC Administrator: eddyn2@dc.edu.hk and keep this email as your record/future correspondence. 

3. Entry fee payment via Reply Slip in mid-October 2023.

General information about this Speech Festival is available on HKSMSA website, and the complete list of the syllabus can be found on this link.

  • All Solo / Duo / Group Classes will be resumed
  • Competitions would be held in “Mixed Mode”, with the majority of the classes being “Live Competition Mode (LCM)”, and only a few elementary solo classes to be held in “Video Submission Mode (VSM)”.
  • The following solo classes will be held in “Video Submission Mode”:
    • 10 – 11 – Vocal Solo – Foreign Language – Boys or Girls Treble Voice – Primary School (Age 10 or under) / (Age 7 to 8)
    • 16, 21 – Vocal Solo – Chinese Language – Boys or Girls Treble Voice – Primary School (Age 13 or under) / (Age 10 or under)
    • 22 – 23 – Children Vocal Solo – Singing in English / Chinese – Boys or Girls Treble Voice (Age 5 to 6)
    • 100 – 110 – Grade Piano Solo – Grade One to Three
    • 210 – 212 – Grade Violin Solo – Grade One to Three
    • 224, 229, 232, 254 – String Solo – Junior
    • 308 – Harmonica Solo – Junior
    • 333 – 334 – Descant Recorder Solo – Primary School (Age 10 or under) / (Age 8 or under)
    • 415, 421, 427, 433, 439, 445, 451, 457 – Woodwind and Brass Solo – Primary School – Junior
    • 503, 507, 511, 515, 520, 533, 552, 555, 558 – Chinese Instrumental Music Solo – Junior
    • 547 – Di Solo – Primary School – Junior
    • 708 – Chinese Operatic Song Solo – Kindergarten
