Dear parents and carers

As we move through Term 1, I wanted to take a moment to appreciate the growth and achievements we’ve seen in our students. Your children continue to inspire us daily with their curiosity, resilience, and boundless creativity. It was wonderful to see so many of you during our initial parent meetings this year. We look forward to updating you on the growth your child has made across this first term in the December parent teacher conferences.

This week in Year 4 and Year 5, we’ve been enthused by the students’ participation in classroom discussions and the creative ideas they bring to their learning. Here are a few snapshots of their recent work, including the fantastic swimming gala, which we hope you’ll enjoy as much as we have.

We are also holding a phonics webinar on Wednesday 18 October and we would love to see you there.

More details about the above events will be shared across our other platforms so please keep an eye out.

Additionally, we are thrilled to inform you about an up-and-coming community event – An Autumn Adventure: A Whimsical Halloween Happening! held on Tuesday 31 October. This event, initiated and generously sponsored by our PTA and the community. This is a chance for us to come together as a community, have fun, and make some memories during the last part of the school day.

We’re mindful that not all families celebrate ‘Halloween’ and we want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and included. This year, while the event will have a Halloween theme, we encourage all children/families to dress up in whatever costumes they feel happiest in and, equally, if your child does not want to dress up that is also okay.

We’re still working out the details based on the number of attendees that we can safely accommodate and I’m sure the PTA will send more information soon. We would absolutely love to see as many of you there as possible.

This morning we also held our first ‘Stay and Play’ in Year 1. Thank you to all of the families who supported this event. ‘Stay and Play’ is a wonderful opportunity for parents to experience what their children are getting up to in school and to make connections with other parents in their child’s class. If you missed this morning, don’t worry there will be other opportunities.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your children.

Best wishes
Mrs Cathrae
