The Love from Luke Annual Blood Drive is back in 2024!

Posted: February 8, 2024

Come donate blood this 5 March between 11:30 am and 6:00 pm in the DC Senior Student Center. Click here to register to donate.

Since the beginning of COVID-19, Hong Kong has suffered a massive blood shortage. Less than 3% of our population donates blood, with this number unfortunately being insufficient to meet the daily needs of our hospitals, depriving people of life saving blood transfusions. This cause is therefore not only of extreme importance, but one that is close to our hearts particularly within our DC community. Many families are reliant on the amazing work that the Red Cross does in combination with willing and able donors.

By taking the time to come along, your one blood donation can save up to three lives of those in need. Your contribution helps regulate the shortage Hong Kong has suffered in recent years, allowing you to make a huge positive impact that is indefinitely appreciated.

Help us continue the legacy of Luke and the Inkin family, members of our own DC community, by actively supporting this cause and coming along to this year’s Love from Luke blood drive (and each annual one in years to come!).

We hope to see teachers, parents, students (aged 16+), and other members of the wider community there. Book your donation slot now!

More information regarding the donation process can be found on our Instagram @lovefromluke.bd Registration and further details are also available here.

A few points to note from the Red Cross:

  • Please bring your HKID / Valid travel document
  • Please do not take any photos/video unless you notify the duty officer in advance
  • Please be reminded that Donors aged 16&17 need to have parental consent provided on the Parent Consent Form. Forms can be downloaded HERE and must be printed on A4 paper in order to be accepted.
  • When you arrive, your suitability to donate is checked by a professional from the Red Cross. They will go through a health screening with you using this form. There is no need to complete the form in advance, but you may want to look to see if you have any conditions that may disqualify you from blood donation.
