Year 9 DC students Tasha Batchelor, Emily Brems and Isla Grainger, (and proud and excited parents!) enjoyed a feast of rugby during the Easter school holiday to round out an amazing rugby season on a high.

Playing in the Barbarians team, a combined group of players from our local community run club DB Pirates (https://www.dbpirates.com/) and partner club Flying Kukris.

At the beginning of the Easter break, the team secured their place in the grand final with second place in the last round of the Hysan Premiership under 14 7s Tournament.

On Easter weekend, playing in the All Girls International 7s Rugby Tournament they put in a superb performance, coming out unbeaten all day and on top in the cup final against long-time rivals, HK Football Club.

Less than a week later, the privilege of playing in the 7s grand final came with added excitement as they ran out at Hong Kong stadium early in the morning of Friday 5 April.  This was the first day of Hong Kong 7s tournament, the last one scheduled to be played at the So Kon Po stadium near Causeway Bay.  This time Football Club took revenge and the cup, Barbarians having to settle for runners-up spot.

Keep up the hard work and dedication, all looking forward to next season!
