On Saturday, 25 May, our Chinese teacher, Mr. Simon Man, led a group of 8 students from Year 10 and Year 11 to South Island School to participate in the ESF Chinese Debate. The debate team gained valuable experience through their participation in this event.
Our Chinese debate team underwent a 10-week training programme led by professional coaches, Mr. Simon Man and Mr. Danny Shih. They have been dedicated supervisors, providing guidance and support to the team throughout their preparation.
The training sessions focused on honing students’ debate skills, refining argumentation techniques, and strengthening their understanding of the Chinese language. Under the guidance of our coaches, students developed critical thinking abilities, improved their research skills, and expanded their vocabulary.
Through the 10-week training programme, our students have grown both as debaters and as individuals, acquiring essential skills and knowledge in the art of debate. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the ESF Chinese Debate and for the invaluable experiences gained along the way.
