Posted: May 24, 2024

Year 9 students, Emily Brems, Olive Ng, and Veera Piipanoja, participated in the first segment of the Hong Kong Games (HKG) on 18-19 May 2024. On 18 May, representing the Islands district in the swimming division, Olive and Emily finished the U15 girls’ 100m freestyle, while Veera finished the U15 girls’ 50m breaststroke, putting in their best performances and all beating their personal best times. On 19 May, the privilege of advancing to the final in the girls’ U15 4x50m freestyle relay came with additional excitement, as Emily and Olive, along with two other swimmers, put in a full performance as the Islands district’s representatives.

The next challenge for Emily, Olive and Veera is coming up on 1-2 June 2024, where they will be competing again in the Hong Kong Games. They will continue to train hard with ESF Sharks coaches Agatha and Ricky.

We look forward to their participation in the next event in June 2024.
