DC Students win bronze medal at Hong Kong Games

Posted: June 7, 2024

Year 9 students, Emily Brems, Olive Ng, and Veera Piipanoja, participated in the final segment of the Hong Kong Games on 1-2 June, 2024, following their successful participation in the first segment in May. On 1 June, 2024, representing the Islands district again in the swimming division, Emily and Veera with two others competed in the U15 mixed 4x50m freestyle relay, and Olive in the U15 girls 50m freestyle, all displaying their superb performances.  On June 2, 2024, the Islands district won a bronze medal when Olive and three swimmers came 3rd in the U15 girls 4x50m IM relay.  The girls’ commitment in putting in their best performances contributed to the Islands district earning the “District with Impressive Progress” title in the swimming division.

The current season for these competitive swimmers is coming to an end on a high note.  They will still continue to train hard with ESF Sharks coaches Agatha and Ricky at the DC swimming pool for the upcoming competitive events hosted by the Hong Kong China Swimming Association in June.
