This summer, DC students did many interesting things, including unique travel experiences, following personal passions, and pursuing new interests. Here are a few highlights we are happy to share with you.
Katie Chen (Year 11) toured Europe over the summer holidays with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, going to Budapest and Pécs (Hungary), Salzburg (Austria) and London (UK). The photo shows the choir at Salzburg Cathedral, known for the baptismal of composer Mozart, where they sang during the morning Mass.
Kevin Xin (Year 10) successfully completed the Mongolian Sunrise to Sunset Marathon at the beginning of August, being the youngest ever competitor in the race’s 17 year history. This marathon is considered very demanding with a 2,200 meter elevation gain/loss across the 42km, so huge congratulations to Kevin for his persistence and achievement.
Scholarship student Gigi Ho participated in the AMEROPA Music Festival 5 in Prague in the Czech Republic. At the festival Gigi undertook solo and chamber performances in violin and viola at churches, palaces and a community service centre as well as undertaking some advanced courses. She also entered the AMEROPA Concertante Competition and won third place with an honorary mention.
