Please join us at DC on Thursday 16 March from 7–8pm for a Parent Information Evening on Cyber Bullying. Speakers on this evening are Mui, Tina and Rog Thomas and DC’s own Digital Literacies Coordinator, Mr Joe Leithhead. Ms Thomas has a rare genetic skin disorder and became a victim of cyberbullying. The Thomas family uses this experience to address others at schools, companies and charitable organisations around Hong Kong and beyond. Their “Family Talks” aim to empower others and challenge attitudes, raise awareness of visible differences, cyberbullying and commitment.
DC’s Digital Literacies Coordinator, Joe Leithhead, will give an insight in the policies within DC to deal with cyber bullying; ways in which students are being taught about the dangers of social media; and on how students can address and report cyber bullying at DC. He will answer questions regarding the most used social media and what parents can do to keep track of their children’s usage of these.
This evening is sponsored by Parsons White Wealth Management, a Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, and a sponsor of The Discovery College PTA. To register: dc.pta@dc.edu.hk. Seats are limited. Free of charge and refreshments will be available.
