Six DC primary students participated in the 9th Annual ISF Academy Chess Open on Sunday 11 March, with over 25 schools and 130 players participating. The Lower Primary team won the Championship trophy for Discovery College making it two years in a row. The team consisted of

Noah Michishita (Year 4)
Rahul Peramunetilleke (Year 3)
Savin Peramunetilleke (Year 3)
Savin came away with 2nd place prize while Mahir was the 4th place winner.
Both students got 5 out of 6 points.
The Upper Primary team, made up of Seth Peramunetilleke (Year 6), won the individual Championship trophy by winning all 6 of his games. This placed DC as 5th place winners for the school prize.
