Next week we will have a combined visiting team from The International Baccalaureate (IB), Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) at DC. Accreditation and authorisation is a five-year process and we have now been able to align the process for all three organisations. Because we have a strong reputation and excellent past accreditation and authorisation reports, we have been selected to take part in a new synchronised pilot visit as it is refined for wider use with other schools.
In preparation for this visit all teaching staff as well as several parents and students were part of a Self-Study Committee or an IB team. These committees developed reports and collected evidence on one aspect of our operation against rigorous standards. The Visiting Team will review our reports against the evidence. From this, they will make decisions about commendations and recommendations, re-accreditation and authorisation for DC. During the week class visits will occur and meetings will take place with the representatives of the three organisations that involve students, staff and other stakeholders.
