Chinese Programme

Posted: February 22, 2019

Just a quick update for the Primary Chinese Programme. Last week we welcomed back YanPing Zhao after her maternity leave. YanPing has resumed work in her Chinese classes that she began the year with. We thank Judy Li for her outstanding work whilst YanPing was away. Judy will now continue to support those classes as the Educational Assistant. On another note, I am pleased to let the community know that we have successfully appointed a new Head of Chinese who will begin with us at the start of the new school year in August 2019. We will introduce her to the community later in the school year.

As a school, we regularly look closely at our curriculum and programmes. Currently within the Chinese programme, we are looking at ways we can continue to improve a few aspects, which include:

  • Curriculum delivery
  • Resourcing
  • Parental involvement

Over the past few months we have received some excellent feedback from parents, especially in regards to their own child’s learning experience with Chinese. We hope that addressing some of the areas above will support the continual development and progress within Chinese learning. I would like to thank parents for their ongoing support, as a school we are committed to continually look for ways to better our programmes in the best interest of all students.
