Last week Discovery College enjoyed a very successful IB 5-Year Visit. This process involves visitors from across the IB network analysing the College’s practices, producing guidance to support the College in its ongoing development, and re-authorising us to offer the four IB programmes – the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in Years 1 – 6, the Middle Years Programme in Years 7 – 11, and the Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) in Years 12 – 13, for the next 5-year cycle.
For anyone who was not able to attend the Community Meeting held online on Thursday 2 November, these slides provide an overview of the visit’s outcomes.
The many strengths of the College and its community shone through in this visit. It was great to see that the visitors’ analysis of our practices aligned closely with the understandings we have developed from our internal Quality Assurance processes which have been introduced over recent years. The guidance from the visit will be used to inform us as we work towards our ongoing development, and it helps us to celebrate all that goes into making Discovery College what it is.
