On 25 and 26 November 12 of our Model United Nations students attended ISLMUN, a conference organised by ESF Island School. The theme of the conference was ‘checkmate’, and as the organisers noted while this title sounds combative the emphasis of discussion was on how different nations, groups and individual political figures can work together to address global challenges. As usual, the high standard of debate gave our students the opportunity to hone their skills and knowledge of committee procedure.
Particular congratulations go to Rysa Bahri and Tamia Montes for winning Outstanding Delegate awards for their committee, and to Alexander Nolens-Liu for a Most Improved Delegate award. It is great to see our students doing so well once again!
