Integrating Design Technology and Chinese

Very clever students in Y7 used their Design Technology skills, and understanding in Chinese, to creatively stitch Chinese characters onto cushions for the Y1 classrooms and Library. The integration of these two subjects proves the power of trans-disciplinary learning. They also made a whole set for the library using words like ‘read,’ ‘book’ and ‘think.’

The Y1 students were very excited after seeing these Chinese cushions made by Y7 students, and they practiced lining up the Chinese number cushions in order.
