U12 Football update

Posted: March 31, 2017

U12 Boys A Team

The A team took a disappointing 4-0 loss to the strong KGV football team in the first game of the season. Within 5 minutes KGV went 3-0 up, and later on in the first half they scored another to make it 4-0. In the second half the DC Cobras put in a solid performance defending and attacking beautifully. Despite going 4-0 down, the man of the match, Yoji Haddow, kept his head up and played his best until the final whistle was blown. Overall the team played well together and are going to be fighting for a place in the playoffs for the rest of this season.

U12 Boys B Team

The B team football played exceptionally well in their last game. Within the first 5 minutes of kick off, it was 1-0 to the Cobras. After a few rough tackles but great defending from KGV’s B team, they got a great goal, but shortly after we netted another three. Our man of the match, Chubba (Y6) made some great tackles in the back line, and we all agreed that without him the game could have been a lot closer. With a final score of 6-1, the Cobras left the school with our heads hung high.

U12 Girls Team
The U12 girls team had their first match on the 28 March against DBIS. DBIS played very well, but DC was victorious, winning 4-2. In the first half, they shot 2 goals within 10 minutes of the game. In the second half everyone rallied together and did a good job both defending and attacking. The last goal came from a penalty against DBIS. Overall, everyone gave their best and finished the game with bright smiles and positive attitudes to carry over to the next challenge.
